Default DKC now 15 to 20 minutes closer for Plano, Frisco, McKinney, ETC

Hello all DKC racers and auto enthusiasts!

The new 190 interchange at I-30 is now open! For all of you racers who live NORTH of 190 (Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Denton, etc) this means that you can now get to DKC much faster.

We have tested the route. Here are the results.

-From Firewheel Mall to I-30 - 8 to 9 Minutes.
-From I-30 at Bass Pro to DKC - 18 to 20 Minutes.

Compared to the 635 route which often-time has traffic and congestion, this new route not only is faster but is also easier on the car.

From I-75 and 190, you will save up to 15 minutes VS taking 75 south to 635, and 635 to 30. If there is traffic on 635, you can save even more time taking this route.

We hope to see you at the Dallas Karting Complex very soon! Make sure to use your forum member discounts when you come out!

Awesome!

So from Frisco you are recommending to take Preston/Tollway S to 190, then 190 to 30, then 30 up to your place?

last time i took 380 to FM 36 and then down some back road...took about 50 minutes?

Correct.

NDT to 190, to 30. Exit 83, and you are here. MUCH faster. Very nice drive. No posted speed limit from firewheel to 30...

It was expained on your FB that even when a sign isn't posted, there are still speed limits to follow. Several people have already received tickets for speeding on that stretch of highway from state troopers. Why would you post that?

I know there is a law. Its just a little comic relief.

I do not mean to insinuate that there is "no law" on the road in regards to speed limits. There was a post just a few minutes ago on this same forum where someone posted about going 200+ with a video on the toll road. Obviously, we are all adults in control of our cars and make decisions regardless of what signs say, or do not say.

So, just as a disclaimer, DKC does not support, endorse, or encourage speeding beyond the posted speed limit, even if there is no posted speed limit. Please make all decisions at your own risk.

Someone needs to organize a big group event again. That was a blast.

No joke. They have been out in full force this past week hiding over the hills.

Yesterday after work was the first time I had seen more than 4 State Troopers working the tollway, & all in the Firewheel to I-30 area.

Stay safe out there.

Oh wow. Is this becoming some new competition? LOL... "How fast can you get from Firewheel Exit to I-30". Dang, that could be a very expensive title to obtain....

5:17 would be a average speed well over 110mph....

It's going to have to be someone else, I'm afraid. Between rebuilding the S2000 and work I'm swamped for the next few months.

Einstein said the speed limit was 186,000 miles per second, so I doubt we have anyone here that is breaking it.

Now it's going to be New Years weekend. You can bet LEO will be out in full force looking for DWIs.

Jeremy (Tejas500) and I went out there on Wednesday. That new section of 190 is super duper nice. While it's an easier drive, its still quite a haul. Thanks again to him for driving
Week days are a great time to go out, not a lot of people at all.
Unfortunately, I was kinda turned off by the fact that you now have to pay to use the seat inserts which keep you from getting absolutely thrashed in the plastic seats. Those should be included, especially for the smaller guys. Jeremy also had his throttle stick on him numerous times, and you can tell the karts are starting to show their wear.

After we did our racing, the day was topped off with a nice ticket on the way back home. Sorry about the bad luck Jeremy! That cop was a happy camper though

Luke is right l, the karts need some love I was going down the straights in kart #6 with both feet in the air WOT, the only way to get the throttle to come loose was to jam the brakes which in turn made for awesomely slow lap times and no flow.

The seat insert thing is bs too, I'm 5'10" 175lbs and I still get tossed around in the seats, the inserts are needed for those who ask for them.

Regardless of the draw backs to DKC and their recent debacles it's still a better choice than Pole Position. It's maybe 10 minutes quicker from Plano with the opening of the toll extension.

As far as the ticket goes I was far overdue for one, just didn't expect it to come in the Raptor and while I was moving with the flow of traffic, he singled me out for whatever reason. I've got plenty of free time on my hands so we will see if Porky shows to the court date.

Was out there yesterday with my boss...we were interviewing salespeople...and needed a break. Best I could do in three sessions was a 76.1 as it wore me out. My young boss had best time of week with a 72.6

Will be back out there again!!!
