This isn't always the case, but i've been on some of their courses that looked like they were designed by Zorro. Super tight hairpins w/ long straights in between, lol

PCA autocross course design is notorious for ridiculously narrow gates. It's not much of a problem in a small car like a Miata, but if you're autocrossing an F-body like a friend of mine, you end up w/ a couple of inches to spare on each side of the car.

Just never payed attention to it I guess. Hell, I just spectated my first Auto-X last month.

He's got, hands down, the best looking PRHT I've seen. He's fixed the wheel gap since we put the stripes on it (and A LOT of other things to).

Maybe he'll join soon. We are kinda outcasts amung most of the Miata guys.

I used to have stripes on mine.

Now I just have chevrons.

I think this pic was from the September drive. Tom Otto took a bunch of pics last time we went through Muenster. This is my S2000 from that same night. (not to hi-jack the thread).

I used to own a Miata. Now I own an S2000, but I still race a Miata (MX-5).

There are several local clubs that hold autocross/time trial events around DFW: NTAXS, BMWCCA, PCA, SCCA, Equipe Rapide, and Texas Time Trials.

DFWAutocross.com is a local autocross/time trial calendar maintained by some of the guys from DFWMiata.com. Great resource with month-by-month schedules of ALL local autocross events, plus links to registration info, etc.

There are also a ton of organizations that hold DE/track events in Texas: Apex Driving Academy, NASA, The Driver's Edge, Eagles Canyon, Velocity Adventures (H2R), TWS Performance Driving School, BMWCCA, PCA, etc.

If you can't find an autocross or track event in DFW, you aren't looking hard enough!

J,

The NTAXS and BMW are often held in the area, at TMS or used to be at Pennington. Been to a couple and they are a blast without the worry of wrapping the car around a pole or tree.

Cheap, fun and a chance to really wring it out.

Yeah, there are only a few who understand how to play with their "toys" responsibly.

Looking forward to a few drives in the near future, or seeing you out at the track.

I suppose it is time to get another Sunday drive together. Maybe I'll put a route together this week and make sure my car is really ready for the DustBall. Anyone game????

Looking forward to it.
