Default Where can I buy a grit guard?

Since I appear to be stuck washing my car, does anyone know of a local store that sells grit guards? Paying $8 of shipping on a $7 piece of plastic just doesn't feel right.

I'm not aware of any local source for them.

They are a prime item on Amazon if you have that.

If you're gonna start to DIY car washing, then you're gonna need more than just a grit guard. Autogeek usually does free shipping promotions on orders over a certain dollar amount.

Got an alternative? I would love to not have to wash my car myself, but Ive been unable to find a trustworthy hand wash place within a reasonable distance of the north Carrollton/Lewisville/Plano/Frisco area.

All depends on how much you want to pay/how often, but there are a few guys on here (and others in the metro) that will come to your house to wash and detail your car (and paint correction, etc.).

He's on Facebook. Been down in the valley last week working on cars
Should be back here now. If you don't need paint correction I have another friend I use.

Yeah ... by appointment, etc., etc. It absolutely boggles my mind that there isn't a simple, trustworthy car wash in the entire frippin' metroplex.

(I managed to scratch my car with the hose today, while trying to wash it. More proof that I have no business doing this myself.) Anyone know of someplace that might be able to repair it?

The car wash in Frisco on Preston, usually does a good job. Obviously you will have to get a hand wash, extra $20. They will do a wax and hand job for $75 but some of those Mexicans have very ruff hands, it tends to chafe.

Look on Amazon. They are $11.75 delivered if you have Prime and $13.45 delivered if you don't.

When I used to live down there, the trip to Forest Car Wash at DNT @ Forest Lane was always worth it for a good hand wash.
