I always order...lum tec's are one of my favorite watches. I may just go look for one today to see if anyone carries them.

Anyone have a Super Combat B2? That's what I want next I think...

Just called markham and tey don't carry them. Al you had me excited for a new watch today! They do carry AP's and Hublot's so I may swing by anyway, I'm getting tired of my Big Bang.

I expected a very high luminescence from the watch (just based on the name) is it was mediocre. I ended up giving my LumTec away after about 3 weeks. IMHO, Ball watches are much more visible in low light situations. Their gas tube technology is much much better.

I looked at the ball watches (at least online), and they seem nice. their luminescence gets much better reviews. They are significantly more expensive even second hand. just was looking for something cheap and different then my yachtmaster.

the lum-tec I'm interested in looking at is this one http://www.lum-tec.com/collection/cu...graph/m47.html

or
http://www.lum-tec.com/collection/up...pre-order.html

same watch, just swiss vs japanese movement.

Ball doesn't make anything in that style. The above ones are Panerai-esqe but still have their own style.

I'm holding out for a Patek minute repeater.

Chris, the owner of Lum-Tec is a great guy. They are fantastic watches in the sub-$1000 price range.

One thing you have to consider is that luminova is completely different than tritium gas tubes, like ball uses. Luminova (the stuff lum-tec uses) is charged by light. It is much more intense in the short term than tritium gas, but eventually fades away. Tritium gas is "always on", but no where as bright.

Also, Ball watches are at least 3x as much as Lum-Tec. Just order from the website and you'll have it in a few days. No local dealers that I am aware of.
